- Nadeshiko's name came from "Yamato nadeshiko" the Japanese term meaning the "personification of an idealized Japanese woman", or "the epitome of pure, feminine beauty", sharing her father's name.
- Her name is also from a flower frilled pink carnation "Dianthus superbus" whose kanji translates to English as "caressable child" (or "wide-eyed barley").
- "Go" in her name means "five" and "dai" means "generations" like her fathers surname it literately means "five generations".
